Needless to say, festivities abound this weekend, given the U.S. Supreme Court's historic 5-4 decision allowing gays to marry in every state.
LGBT rights nonprofit Equality Florida has several Decision Day events planned this evening throughout Florida.
Hey, we were hoping to do a little pre-gaming ahead of St. Pete Pride, anyway.
These events were scheduled to happen on the day of the Supreme Court decision no matter what the outcome, but many were cautiously optimistic that the occasion would be celebratory:
Tampa: Metro Wellness Center in Ybor, 1315 E. 7th Ave., 6 p.m.
St. Petersburg: LGBT Welcome Center, 2227 Central Ave., 6 p.m. (After-party, 8 p.m. at Enigma, 1110 Central Ave.)
Sarasota: Clasico Cafe Bar, 1341 Main St., 6 p.m.
Orlando: The Hammered Lamb, 1235 N. Orange Ave., 6:30 p.m.
