We've now entered that stretch of weeks between the Fourth and Labor Day weekend known for oppressive heat, even more oppressive A/C, scary storms and those intermittent beach days that make it all worthwhile.

And as Florida's most notirous summer weeks wear on, we here at CL, will be plugging away on our Best of the Bay issue, which hits stands in September. We're making this one the biggest, baddest Best of the Bay Issue yet — the 25th of its kind.

But we need your help nominating people, places, events, you name it, via our reader survey, which we're doing a bit differently this year.

We want to know what you think.

Is there a politician you know who always seems to genuinely act in the interests of his or her constituents?

Is there one, in particular, you loathe more than most?

Any activist you admire, or journalist who deserves to be recognized for shining light on wrongdoings of those who are supposed to be leading and serving us?

Weigh in on our People, Places and Politics section here.

And it's not all politics and public affairs stuff, either.

We'd love to hear about your favorite eateries and bars, musicians and galleries and places to get a good oil change or haircut.

The deadline for weighing in is July 21.

Then, you'll have a chance to vote on the final list of nominees from August 6 through Sept. 8.

It's a quick and easy survey that you can find by clicking here.

On Wednesday, September 23, we'll announce the winners—and release a limited number of advance copies of the 25th annual BOTB issue—at a soiree in St. Pete at the Mahaffey.

Happy voting!
