We endured a soggy, soggy weekend here in the Tampa Bay area, but that didn't stop at least four things from happening, apparently.
FRIDAY, JULY 31:
A Pasco County Special Olympics soccer teambeat China to win the bronze medal at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. Huzzah! Inspiring job, folks.
The Winter Park Policereported that guns were stolen from a parked cruiser earlier in the week, including an AR-15 assault rifle and a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun. If only there were some sort of authoritative body tasked with keeping stuff like that from happening...
SATURDAY, AUG. 1:
A Clearwater JC Penney store had to be evacuated after somebody sprayed pepper spray inside. IT'S NOT A CONDIMENT, PEOPLE.
SUNDAY, AUG. 2:
And finally, a hitchhiking robot that was supposed to cutely and automatically make its way across the U.S. isn't going to make it, because it was vandalized and broken by an asshat in Philly, just two weeks into its journey. Nice things, why we can't, etc.
