Apparently, a certain presidential contender didn't get the memo.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, former Florida Governor and one of the guys who wants to be president Jeb Bush sent out a rather bizarre tweet that has since, if our Twitter feed is any indication, been retweeted many, many times.
The tweet was in response to comments Donald Trump made about Bush's big brother, George W., during an interview that went viral Friday.
The Trump comments in question were spouted after Bloomberg's Stephanie Ruhle after she asked him to "help us understand who Donald Trump is as a man."
He responded by saying, more or less, that 9/11 wouldn't have happened had he been president.
"I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I'm much more competent than all of them," he said. "When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want; the World Trade Center came down during his time."
When Ruhle interrupted him to assert that Bush shouldn't be blamed for the catastrophe, Trump continued.
"He was president at the time...Blame him or don't blame him, but he was president. The World Trade Center came down during his reign," he said.
Jeb Bush soon after took to Twitter to defend his big brother with the above tweet, which seems like just hastily written repetition of his bizarre assertion that W. "kept us safe."
The thing is, the tweet was obviously self-contradictory and the Internet knows it, which made it an easy target for critics.
